ADHD and Executive Function Coaching

What is ADHD and Executive Function Coaching?

ADHD coaching is a specialized form of coaching designed to support individuals who have been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Executive Functioning challenges. It’s a highly effective approach that helps individuals better understand and manage the unique challenges associated with ADHD. One of the primary goals is to empower individuals to develop effective strategies and skills for managing their ADHD symptoms. I take a holistic, strengths-based approach to my clients’ well-being. We will work on the practical aspects of managing ADHD as well as your emotional well-being, relationships, and overall life satisfaction. It’s all about equipping my clients with the tools they need to thrive in their personal and professional lives.

How is it different from “regular” or life coaching?

Many individuals with ADHD struggle with time management, organization, perfectionism, emotional regulation, and productivity. As an ADHD coach, I am specially trained to help my clients with these and other ADHD-specific topics, and to always use an ADHD lens with my clients, which is training and perspective generalized life coaches don’t have and aren’t equipped to offer. I often address executive functioning skills like planning, decision-making, and problem-solving—always through an ADHD lens—in sessions with my clients to help them establish routines, prioritize tasks, and stay on track to achieve long-term goals.

Why would I want a specialized ADHD coach?

ADHD coaches have a deep expertise and specialized training in understanding ADHD symptoms, including impulsivity, distractability, time management challenges, forgetfulness, and executive function deficits, and can provide targeted strategies to address these issues. I develop evidence-based techniques and tools that are tailored and specifically designed to help my clients with ADHD and their families. I particularly love helping my clients learn about their ADHD, how it affects them, and what will work best with their unique brain-wiring to empower and improve their lives.

Many individuals who engage in ADHD coaching report significant improvements in their quality of life, including better academic or work performance, improved relationships, and a greater sense of control over their ADHD symptoms. And for those families who participate in ADHD coaching, many shed the negative patterns and behaviors that have plagued them for generations and emerge with stronger, happier, and more joyful family interactions.

In short, I can find ways to help you better manage and enjoy your life.

What about the emotional struggles that come with ADHD? Can you help me with that?

Absolutely. In fact, that will be a huge focus of our coaching relationship, if that’s what you need. We will tackle the fallout of a lifetime of trying to live in a world that was not designed to showcase your strengths. The self-esteem hits that most ADHDers have lived with their whole lives have tremendous negative impact that are likely to hamper your ability to live your best life. We’ll dig into that and get to the root of the specific impact being “out of step” with the neurotypical world has had on you. I can help you excise those gremlins and feel empowered to be who you truly are, enabling you to thrive without fitting you into a cookie-cutter mold.

You truly can crush the blocks that are preventing you from living your best life. I will help you reframe and chunk down those challenges so that you can approach your life with hope, passion, joy, and optimism. Together we will create new approaches and solutions that enable you to once and for all make the positive changes to unlock your potential and pursue your deepest happiness. My joy comes from helping you find lasting solutions for lifelong, sustained change that empowers you to achieve your goals and live your best life.

What if I’m looking for coaching for a loved one with ADHD?

You’ve found the right place! I have gone through extensive, specialized training to help parents, families, children, and young adults manage and thrive with their ADHD. I work with parents, kids, young adults, whole families, and all combinations of those groups to not only help the individual(s)—since ADHD is highly hereditary, it’s very common to find multiple people in a family have ADHD, whether they know it or not—but also the entire family unit. I believe with understanding, patience, appreciation, and kindness can grow, so I pay special attention to making sure we fully understand how ADHD is showing up, what challenges are obvious and not-so-obvious, and what strategies might work best, as well as ensuring that all members of the family feel seen, heard, and valued.

Overcome the notion that you must be regular. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary.
